Cache memory is a small, high-speed memory that stores frequently accessed data from main memory, allowing the processor to retrieve it much faster than accessing main memory directly. The effectiveness of a cache is heavily influenced by how efficiently it can predict which data will be needed next and how it handles situations where the requested data is not present in the cache (a cache miss).

Hurtigbufferpolitik encompasses various approaches to address these challenges. One common aspect is the choice of replacement policy. When the cache is full and new data needs to be brought in, a replacement policy determines which existing data block should be evicted. Write-back policies, on the other hand, only write to the cache and mark the block as "dirty," deferring the write to main memory until the block is replaced, which can improve performance but requires careful management to avoid data loss.
