Hullámhosszait

Hullámhosszait refers to the wavelengths of something, most commonly electromagnetic radiation or waves. Wavelength is a fundamental property of waves, measuring the distance between consecutive corresponding points of the same phase, such as two adjacent crests or troughs. It is typically denoted by the Greek letter lambda (λ) and is measured in units of length, such as meters, nanometers, or micrometers.

Different types of waves have vastly different ranges of wavelengths. For example, visible light, which our eyes can detect, spans a relatively narrow range of wavelengths from approximately 380 nanometers (violet light) to 750 nanometers (red light). Beyond this visible spectrum, electromagnetic radiation exists with shorter wavelengths, like ultraviolet (UV) radiation and X-rays, and longer wavelengths, such as infrared (IR) radiation, microwaves, and radio waves. Each of these electromagnetic wave types, characterized by its hullámhosszait, has unique properties and applications.

In acoustics, sound waves also possess wavelengths, which are related to their frequency and the speed of sound in the medium. The hullámhosszait of sound waves determine their pitch.
