Hukommelseslagring, also known as memory storage, refers to the technology and systems used to store data for short-term or long-term use. Volatile memory, such as Random Access Memory (RAM), requires power to maintain stored data. When the power is turned off, the data is lost. This type of memory is used for temporary storage of data that the processor needs to access quickly. Non-volatile memory, on the other hand, retains data even when power is turned off. Examples include Read-Only Memory (ROM), flash memory, and hard disk drives (HDDs). Non-volatile memory is used for long-term storage of data.

Memory storage is measured in bytes, with common units including kilobytes (KB), megabytes (MB), gigabytes (GB), and terabytes (TB). The speed at which data can be read from or written to memory is also an important factor, often measured in megabytes per second (MB/s) or gigabytes per second (GB/s).
