Hringvegurinn, also known as Route 1, is a national road that encircles Iceland. It is approximately 1,332 kilometers (828 miles) long and is the main arterial route for traveling around the country. The road connects most of the inhabited parts of Iceland, passing through diverse landscapes including coastlines, mountains, volcanic fields, and agricultural areas.
