HoogezandSappemeer
Hoogezand-Sappemeer is a town and former municipality in the northeast Netherlands, located in the province of Groningen. It lies southeast of the city of Groningen and is part of the Groningen urban area, with the Winschoterdiep canal nearby. The name reflects the two towns of Hoogezand and Sappemeer, which historically formed a single municipality that covered both communities.
The municipality of Hoogezand-Sappemeer existed until 1 January 2019, when it merged with the neighboring municipalities
