Hmérsékletváltozás

Mérsékletváltozás refers to the long-term change in the Earth's climate system, primarily driven by human activities. This phenomenon is also commonly known as climate change. Scientific evidence overwhelmingly indicates that the Earth's average temperature has been rising at an unprecedented rate over the past century, largely due to the increased concentration of greenhouse gases in the atmosphere. These gases, such as carbon dioxide, methane, and nitrous oxide, trap heat from the sun, leading to a gradual warming of the planet.

The primary source of these elevated greenhouse gas levels is the burning of fossil fuels like coal, oil, and natural gas for energy production, transportation, and industrial processes. Deforestation also plays a significant role, as trees absorb carbon dioxide from the atmosphere. The consequences of mérsékletváltozás are wide-ranging and include rising sea levels due to thermal expansion of water and melting glaciers, more frequent and intense extreme weather events like heatwaves, droughts, floods, and storms, and disruptions to ecosystems and biodiversity. Addressing mérsékletváltozás involves a global effort to reduce greenhouse gas emissions, transition to renewable energy sources, and adapt to the changes that are already occurring.
