Hivecities
Hivecities are a common trope in science fiction, particularly in dystopian and cyberpunk genres. They represent massive, densely populated urban environments, often characterized by extreme verticality and stratification. Typically, a hivecity is a colossal structure, sometimes spanning miles into the sky, housing millions, if not billions, of inhabitants. These structures are often built in layers, with the wealthiest and most powerful residing in the upper levels, enjoying sunlight, cleaner air, and superior amenities. Conversely, the lower levels are frequently depicted as overcrowded, polluted, and dangerous, home to the working class and underclass.
The architecture of hivecities emphasizes extreme density. Buildings are often interconnected, forming a complex, multi-layered network
