Hisingen

Hisingen is an island in the Göta älv, located just north of Gothenburg’s inner city in Västra Götaland County, Sweden. It is part of Gothenburg Municipality and forms a substantial portion of the city’s northern shore. The island’s landscape includes residential areas, industrial zones, and waterfront districts, and it is one of the country’s better-known urban islands due to its scale and proximity to the city center.

Geographically, Hisingen lies along the river mouth where Göta älv meets the sea, and it is connected to the mainland by multiple road links and bridges.
