Hingut
Hingut is an ancient city located in what is now the Red Sea Governorate of Egypt. Its history dates back to the Early Dynastic Period of Ancient Egypt, with excavations suggesting that it was first occupied around 2100 BCE. The city's name in ancient languages is believed to refer to a gate or a port of entry, which is fitting given its location on the Red Sea.
During the Middle Kingdom period, around 1900-1600 BCE, Hingut became an important center of trade and commerce.
Hingut is also known for its distinctive architecture, which reflects the unique blend of Egyptian and Puntite
Excavations at Hingut have been ongoing since the 20th century, with foreign expeditions and Egyptian archaeologists
