Heuristikuid is a concept in data management describing a heuristic-based unique identifier used to tag and reconcile entities across datasets. The term combines heuristik (heuristic) with uid (unique identifier) and is used mainly in contexts where authoritative IDs are missing, inconsistent, or costly to enforce. It is not a formal standard, but a practical approach to entity resolution and data integration.

Construction and characteristics: A heuristikuid is typically derived from a set of heuristic rules that combine multiple attributes (such as names, addresses, timestamps, and contextual features) to produce a stable identifier. The process may be deterministic, producing the same UID for similar records, or probabilistic, assigning UIDs according to scores and similarity thresholds. Implementation often involves feature normalization, similarity measures, and a hashing or indexing strategy to ensure efficient lookup. Heuristikuid aims for consistency within a domain, acknowledging that cross-domain uniqueness cannot be guaranteed.
