Hematoopoeis

Hematoopoeis, also spelled hematopoiesis, is the process by which the body produces blood cells. This process occurs primarily in the bone marrow, where stem cells differentiate into various types of blood cells, including red blood cells, white blood cells, and platelets. The regulation of hematopoiesis is a complex interplay of growth factors, cytokines, and signaling pathways that ensure the production of the appropriate number and type of blood cells in response to physiological needs and pathological conditions.

Hematopoiesis can be divided into several stages: proliferation, differentiation, and maturation. During proliferation, stem cells divide to produce more stem cells and progenitor cells.
