Helsenorge

Helsenorge is the Norwegian public online health portal that provides residents with digital access to health information and a range of e-services. It is operated by the government in collaboration with national and regional health authorities and is designed to give citizens secure, self-service access to their own health data as well as to public health information.

Through Helsenorge users can log in securely with electronic identification to view and manage personal health information. This includes medical records, prescribed medications, laboratory test results, and immunisation data. The portal also offers electronic prescriptions, the ability to request and manage referrals, booking and rescheduling of appointments, and secure messaging with healthcare providers. It provides reminders and alerts related to medications and care, and allows users to update personal contact details.

Privacy and data protection are central to the service. Access to health data is restricted to the patient and authorized healthcare professionals, with activity logged for auditing purposes. Citizens can download or export their own data and can request corrections or take steps to manage who has access to their information, in line with applicable laws.

Helsenorge aims to streamline interaction with the health system by consolidating information and services in one digital interface. It supports Norway’s broader efforts toward digital health and interoperable records across primary and specialized care.
