Heartpounding
Heartpounding refers to a sensation where one's heart beats unusually fast or forcefully, often perceived as noticeable or even alarming. This physiological response can be triggered by a variety of stimuli, both physical and emotional. Common causes include strenuous physical exertion, where the heart rate increases to deliver more oxygen to working muscles. It can also be a reaction to strong emotions such as fear, excitement, anxiety, or surprise, due to the release of adrenaline and other stress hormones.
