Hawarden
Hawarden is a market town and community in Flintshire, Wales. It lies on the River Dee, approximately eight miles west of Chester. The town has a history stretching back to the Roman period, with evidence of a Roman road and settlement found in the area. During the medieval era, Hawarden Castle was a significant stronghold. The current castle is largely a Victorian reconstruction, built on the site of the original Norman motte-and-bailey fortress.
