Harars

Harars is a term that can refer to several related subjects associated with Harar, a historic city in eastern Ethiopia, as well as to the people and culture of the surrounding region. In some usages, Harars may function as a plural form describing things connected with Harar or its inhabitants.

The city of Harar, also known as Harar Jugol, lies in the Harari Region of Ethiopia. It is one of the oldest continuously inhabited urban centers in the Horn of Africa and is renowned for its historic Islamic heritage, dense network of narrow streets, and distinctive architecture. Harar has long served as a commercial and religious center, linking inland communities with coastal trade routes.
