Hallgatja
Hallgatja is a Hungarian verb form. It is the third-person singular present indicative definite form of the verb hallgat, meaning to listen or pay attention to something, and it can also carry the sense of listening with intent or attending to what is being heard. In Hungarian, verbs distinguish definite and indefinite conjugations when there is a direct object; hallgatja is used when the direct object is definite (for example, a specific piece of music or a particular person).
Morphology and usage: The base form hallgat appears in the indefinite present tense as hallgat (ő hallgat).
- Ő hallgatja a zenét. (He is listening to the music.)
- A tanár hallgatja a diákokat. (The teacher is listening to the students.)
Notes: Hallgat can also mean to heed or obey in certain constructions, such as hallgatni valakire vagy
