Halduüksus

Halduüksus is an Estonian term that denotes a governmental administrative unit or governance entity defined by geographic boundaries. It is a generic concept used in public administration to refer to units that carry out administrative tasks, deliver public services, and implement policies within a country or region. The term is applicable to different levels of administration, depending on the legal framework.

In Estonia, the primary halduüksused are counties and municipalities, including cities (linn) and rural municipalities (vald).
