Halbrund
Halbrund is a half-round profile or shape used in carpentry, metalworking, and design. The term refers to a cross-section that is a semicircle; when used as a decorative or functional edge, it provides a curved surface along the length. Halbrund profiles are common in mouldings, trim, rails, stair nosings, and furniture components; they can be found as halbrundleiste, halbrundprofil, or as half-round rods or bars. Materials include wood, metal, and plastic. In woodworking, a halbrund edge is produced by planing or routing a straight edge, or by turning to create the rounded profile; in metalwork and plastics, extrusion, casting, or rolling can form the half-round cross-section.
