Hýdrófóbísk

Hýdrófóbísk is an Icelandic term that translates to "hydrophobic" in English. It describes the physical property of a substance or molecule that does not mix with or is repelled by water. This characteristic arises from the nonpolar nature of these substances, meaning they lack a significant separation of electrical charge, unlike polar molecules like water which have a positive and negative end.
