Götalandsregionen
Götalandsregionen, also referred to as the Götaland Region, is a proposed administrative region in Sweden that would unite parts of the historic province of Götaland under a single regional government. The concept arises from discussions about regional reform aimed at simplifying governance, improving coordination of transport, healthcare, and economic development, and strengthening the region’s competitiveness. As of 2025, no official entity by that name exists; governance remains organized through the existing county councils and municipalities within Västra Götaland, Halland, Skåne, Kronoberg, Jönköping, Kalmar, Blekinge, Östergötland and other parts of southern Sweden.
