Gutzon

Gutzon is a given name of Danish origin. It is most associated with Gutzon Borglum (1867–1941), a Danish-American sculptor who designed the Mount Rushmore National Memorial in the Black Hills of South Dakota.

The Mount Rushmore project began in 1927, and Borglum led its early phases until his death in 1941. After his passing, his son Lincoln Borglum oversaw the completion of selected phases. Borglum produced other public sculptures across the United States, and his work is noted for its monumental scale and civic significance. Mount Rushmore remains a major national landmark and a symbol of American presidential history.
