Guttaperkassa
Guttaperkassa refers to a substance derived from the latex of certain trees, primarily the gutta-percha tree (Palaquium gutta) native to Southeast Asia. Historically, guttaperkassa has been valued for its unique properties. It is a non-elastic, rigid form of natural rubber that becomes pliable and moldable when heated, and hardens again upon cooling. This thermoplastic characteristic made it useful for a variety of applications.
