Guimerà

Guimerà may refer to more than one use in Catalan culture. It is the name of a municipality in Catalonia, Spain, recognized as a small town with a characteristic rural landscape and historical streets typical of the region.

Guimerà also exists as a Catalan surname. The name is associated with figures who contributed to Catalan culture, most notably Àngel Guimerà (1845–1924), a prominent Catalan poet and playwright. Guimerà’s body of work helped popularize Catalan literature in the late 19th and early 20th centuries, and his plays are considered important milestones in modern Catalan theatre.
