Größenwerts

Größenwerts is the genitive form associated with the noun Größenwert, a term used in measurement science to denote the numerical value of a physical quantity. In modern German, the standard genitive is des Größenwerts (des Größenwertes); the form Größenwerts appears mainly in older texts or in certain compound expressions and is rarely used as a standalone noun today.

In metrology, a Größenwert refers to the magnitude of a quantity expressed in a specific unit. The concept emphasizes the numerical value itself, distinct from the unit and from any accompanying uncertainty. A complete measurement result often includes both the Größenwert and an uncertainty, for example as a value with its standard deviation or confidence interval.
