Grundförbrukning

Grundförbrukning is a Swedish term meaning base or baseline consumption. It is used in energy analysis, economics, and production planning to denote the minimum level of resource use required to maintain basic operation or life, independent of overall demand or output. This baseline is distinguished from variable or marginal consumption, which grows or shrinks with activity.

In energy and buildings, grundförbrukning describes the portion of energy use that is necessary even when activity is minimal. Examples include heating or cooling to maintain safe indoor temperatures, refrigeration for perishables, essential lighting, and standby power for critical equipment.
