Grohlicanspeaking

Grohlicanspeaking is a constructed language devised in the early 2020s by linguist Dr. Elena Grohlich as an experimental project to explore prosodic structure and community-driven linguistic evolution. The language derives its name from its creator and the distinctive "gh" phoneme that dominates its phonological inventory. It employs a verb–subject–object word order, which is atypical among European‑derived conlang communities, and features an extensive use of pitch accent to convey grammatical information.

The language was first introduced to the international conlanging community through a series of academic papers published in 2021 and 2022. These papers outlined its phonemic inventory, which includes twenty consonants, nine vowels, and two semivowels, as well as a series of tonal markers that modify meaning rather than grammatical function. In 2023, a foundational grammar text titled *Principles of Grohlicanspeaking* was released, providing a comprehensive description of morphology, syntax, and pragmatic usage.

Although Grohlicanspeaking remains primarily a niche linguistic experiment, an active online community has formed to expand its lexicon and to produce creative works in the language. Current efforts include the development of an interactive digital dictionary and the production of short stories, poems, and educational videos. The language is freely available for study under a Creative Commons Attribution license, encouraging further scholarly research and artistic exploration.
