Greymouth
Greymouth is a town in the West Coast region of the South Island of New Zealand. It is the largest town in the West Coast and serves as the administrative centre for the Grey District Council. The town is situated on the Tasman Sea coast at the mouth of the Grey River. Its origins are linked to the discovery of gold in the region in the 1860s, which led to a rapid population increase and the establishment of a port to service the mining industry.
The economy of Greymouth has historically been based on gold mining, coal mining, and timber milling. Today,
