Granuloiset is a term that can refer to several distinct concepts, primarily in the fields of geology and medicine. In geology, "granuloiset" is a French term used to describe rocks that have a granular texture, meaning they are composed of mineral grains that are roughly equal in size and shape. This texture is common in igneous rocks like granite, where the interlocking crystals of quartz, feldspar, and mica create a noticeably granular appearance. It can also describe metamorphic rocks like granulite, which are characterized by their high-grade metamorphic conditions and often a coarse-grained, granular texture.

In a medical context, "granuloiset" can be a descriptor for conditions or tissues exhibiting a granulomatous appearance. Granulomas are small clusters of inflammatory cells, typically macrophages, that form when the immune system attempts to wall off substances it perceives as foreign but cannot eliminate.
