Gränsproduktivitet

Gränsproduktivitet is an economic concept that refers to the additional output produced by one more unit of input. This input can be labor, capital, or any other factor of production. For example, if a factory produces 100 widgets with 10 workers, and produces 110 widgets with 11 workers, the gränsproduktivitet of the eleventh worker is 10 widgets.

The principle of diminishing gränsproduktivitet states that as more of one input is added to a fixed amount of other inputs, the gränsproduktivitet of the variable input will eventually decrease. This is a fundamental concept in microeconomics and helps explain production costs and optimal levels of resource allocation. Businesses use the concept of gränsproduktivitet to make decisions about hiring, investing, and production levels to maximize profits. When the gränsproduktivitet of an additional unit of input is greater than the cost of that input, it is generally profitable to add more of that input. Conversely, if the gränsproduktivitet is less than the cost, it is not economically beneficial to add more.
