Gproteinkapcsolódó refers to a class of cellular receptors known as G protein-coupled receptors (GPCRs). These are integral membrane proteins that play a crucial role in signal transduction within cells. The fundamental mechanism of GPCR signaling involves the activation of a guanine nucleotide-binding protein, or G protein, located on the intracellular side of the cell membrane. When an external ligand, such as a hormone or neurotransmitter, binds to the extracellular portion of a GPCR, it induces a conformational change in the receptor. This change allows the GPCR to interact with a trimeric G protein, facilitating the exchange of GDP for GTP on the G protein's alpha subunit.

The activated G protein then dissociates into its subunits and initiates downstream signaling cascades. These cascades can lead to a variety of cellular responses, including changes in enzyme activity, ion channel permeability, or gene expression. The specific response depends on the type of G protein involved, as there are several families of G proteins (Gs, Gi, Gq, G12/13) that mediate distinct signaling pathways.

Due to their widespread involvement in sensing external stimuli and relaying signals into the cell, GPCRs are implicated in numerous biological functions such as vision, olfaction, taste, immune response, and neurotransmission. Their critical role makes them essential for maintaining cellular homeostasis and organismal function.
