Godaido
Godaido is a historic wooden hall located on Mount Koya in Wakayama Prefecture, Japan. It is considered one of the most important buildings on the sacred mountain, which is the headquarters of Shingon Buddhism. The current Godaido was reconstructed in 1932, but its origins trace back to the Kamakura period (1185-1333). The name Godaido translates to "Hall of the Five Elements," referring to the Buddhist concept of the five great elements: earth, water, fire, wind, and void.
