Glikolitik
Glikolitik is a term that generally refers to processes or substances related to glycolysis. Glycolysis itself is a fundamental metabolic pathway that occurs in the cytoplasm of virtually all living cells. It is the initial stage of cellular respiration and involves the breakdown of glucose, a six-carbon sugar, into two molecules of pyruvate, a three-carbon compound. This process generates a small amount of adenosine triphosphate (ATP), the primary energy currency of the cell, and reduced nicotinamide adenine dinucleotide (NADH), which can be used in later stages of energy production.
The term "glikolitik" might be used to describe enzymes that catalyze reactions within glycolysis, such as hexokinase
