Gisulf
Gisulf was a Lombard king who ruled over the Kingdom of Benevento from approximately 756 to 762. His reign marked a period of transition in the history of southern Italy, as the Lombards established a lasting presence in the region after their initial invasions in the 6th century. Gisulf succeeded his father, Gisulf II, who had previously ruled Benevento, and continued the efforts to consolidate Lombard control over the southern Italian peninsula.
