Getirilmi

Getirilmi is not a standard lexical item in contemporary Turkish. It does not appear as an entry in major Turkish dictionaries and is typically encountered only as a nonstandard form, typographical variant, or fragment in texts. If seen, it is generally interpreted as a corrupted or split version of a longer, grammatically correct phrase such as getirilmiş mi or getirildi mi, both of which form a yes‑no question meaning “has it been brought?” or “was it brought?”

Linguistic background

In Turkish, the verb getirmek means “to bring.” The passive past participle forms include getirildi (was brought) and getirilmiş (has been brought / brought to be). The particle mi marks a question and normally follows the word it attaches to, with suitable punctuation: getirilmiş mi? or getirildi mi? A spaced, unpunctuated form like getirilmi is typically the result of a typographical error, OCR misreadings, or a misdivision of words in running text.

Usage and interpretation

When encountered, getirilmi should be treated as likely erroneous unless sourced from a context that explicitly uses an unconventional orthography or a historical text with idiosyncratic spelling. In standard Turkish, it is preferable to restore the phrase to getirilmiş mi? or getirildi mi? depending on intended tense and voice.
