Gernsback
Gernsback is a surname, most notably associated with Hugo Gernsback (1884–1967), a Luxembourgish-American inventor, writer, and editor. Gernsback is widely considered one of the "fathers of science fiction" for his pioneering role in editing and publishing the first science fiction magazines. He founded Amazing Stories in 1926, a publication dedicated solely to the genre. His enthusiastic promotion and publication of early science fiction stories helped to define and popularize the genre, inspiring many subsequent writers and artists.
