Gazdagítás

Gazdagítás is a Hungarian term derived from gazdag (rich) and denotes the process of making something richer or more valuable by adding substances, materials, nutrients, or properties. The concept is used across different fields, and its precise meaning depends on context.

In food technology, gazdagítás refers to fortification or enrichment of foods with vitamins, minerals, or other nutrients to improve nutritional value or address deficiencies. Examples include adding iodine to salt, vitamin fortification in cereals, or calcium enrichment in dairy products.

In microbiology, gazdagítás describes an enrichment culture technique. This method uses selective media and incubation conditions to promote the growth of a target microorganism from a mixed sample, enabling isolation and further study. Enrichment steps are common in clinical diagnostics and environmental microbiology.

In mining and mineral processing, gazdagítás denotes ore enrichment or concentration, where the valuable components are separated from gangue to increase ore grade. Techniques such as grinding, flotation, and gravity separation are employed to achieve higher metal content in the processed material.
