Ganjin, also known as Jianzhen in Mandarin Chinese, was a highly influential Chinese Buddhist monk of the Tang dynasty. He is renowned for his arduous journey to Japan, where he played a pivotal role in establishing the Risshū (Vinaya school) of Buddhism.
