Ganganagar, officially known as Sri Ganganagar, is a city and municipality in the Ganganagar district of Rajasthan, India. It is situated in the northernmost part of Rajasthan, bordering Punjab. The city is a planned settlement, established by the Government of Rajasthan in the early 20th century with the primary aim of irrigating the arid region of the Ghaggar River basin.
