Gamera

Gamera is a fictional giant monster, or kaiju, that has appeared in a series of Japanese films produced by Daiei Film. The character first appeared in the 1965 film Gamera, subtitled "Gamera the Giant Monster" in some releases. Gamera is typically depicted as a gigantic, bipedal turtle-like creature with a tough, armored shell. Its abilities often include flight, projectile plasma breath, and the capacity to fire energy blasts from its eyes or limbs. Unlike many kaiju, Gamera is often portrayed as a protector of Earth, frequently defending humanity from other monstrous threats, alien invaders, or environmental disasters.
