Gallim

Gallim was a significant ancient city located in the region of Galilee, in what is now modern-day Israel. Its historical importance is primarily linked to its mention in the New Testament of the Christian Bible. According to the Gospel of Mark, Gallim is identified as the birthplace of the apostle Peter, his brother Andrew, and their companions John and James, the sons of Zebedee. This association has made Gallim a site of religious pilgrimage and interest for centuries.

The exact location of ancient Gallim has been a subject of debate among scholars. While some traditions and earlier interpretations placed it near the Sea of Galilee, more recent archaeological evidence and scholarly consensus suggest a different location. Current research points to a site on the western side of the Sea of Galilee, likely in the vicinity of modern-day Magdala or Capernaum.
