Gaeltachta
Gaeltacht refers to regions in Ireland where the Irish language is the predominant community language and used in daily life, education, business, and local media. These areas are designated by the state and are primarily located along the western seaboard, spanning parts of counties such as Donegal, Galway, Mayo, Kerry, and Cork. Well-known Gaeltacht zones include Connemara in Galway, the Aran Islands, the Dingle Peninsula in Kerry, and parts of Achill and north Mayo. The concept embodies communities where Irish remains a living, everyday language rather than merely a ceremonial or ceremonial-cultural tongue.
The Gaeltacht is governed by a statutory framework established by the state, notably through the Gaeltacht
Education plays a central role, with many schools and Gaelscoileanna delivering instruction through Irish in Gaeltacht
