GNSSnätverk refers to a network of permanently installed Global Navigation Satellite System (GNSS) reference stations. These stations are equipped with high-precision receivers that continuously collect GNSS data. The primary purpose of a GNSSnätverk is to provide highly accurate positioning services over a wide geographical area. By establishing a dense network of stations, the system can mitigate or correct for atmospheric delays and satellite orbit errors, which are major sources of inaccuracy in standalone GNSS.

The data collected by the reference stations is transmitted to a processing center. Here, the data is used to generate correction data. This correction data can be disseminated to users in real-time or post-processing. Users with compatible GNSS receivers can then utilize these corrections to achieve centimeter-level or even millimeter-level positioning accuracy.
