GHSpiktogrammit, also known as GHS pictograms, are standardized graphical symbols used to convey information about the hazards associated with chemical products. These pictograms are part of the Globally Harmonized System of Classification and Labelling of Chemicals (GHS), an international system developed by the United Nations. The aim of GHS is to provide a consistent and understandable way to communicate chemical hazards across different countries and regulatory systems.

There are nine distinct GHS pictograms, each representing a specific type of hazard. These include symbols for explosives, flammable substances, oxidizing agents, gases under pressure, corrosive substances, acute toxicity (fatal or toxic), health hazards (e.g., carcinogenicity, mutagenicity), and environmental hazards. Each pictogram is enclosed within a red diamond border, making them easily recognizable.

The use of GHS pictograms on chemical labels and Safety Data Sheets (SDS) helps workers, emergency responders, and consumers quickly identify potential risks and take appropriate precautions. This standardization aims to improve chemical safety worldwide by reducing confusion and misinterpretation of hazard information. Regulatory bodies in many countries have adopted or are in the process of adopting the GHS, ensuring broader implementation of these pictograms.
