G99234
G99234 is a newly discovered exoplanet located approximately 120 light-years away from Earth in the constellation of Cygnus. It orbits a star designated G99234A, which is a G-type main-sequence star similar to our Sun. The planet, designated G99234 b, is a super-Earth with a mass about 5.2 times that of Earth and a radius approximately 2.1 times larger. It completes one orbit around its host star in about 14 Earth days, placing it within the habitable zone where liquid water could potentially exist on the surface.
The discovery of G99234 b was made using the transit method, where the slight dimming of the
G99234 b's proximity to Earth and its unique characteristics make it an attractive target for future astronomical
