Føroyar
Føroyar, also known as the Faroe Islands, is a self-governing archipelago, part of the Kingdom of Denmark. Located in the North Atlantic Ocean, roughly halfway between Norway and Iceland, the islands lie northwest of Scotland. The archipelago comprises 18 major islands and a number of smaller islets. The total land area is approximately 1,400 square kilometers. Tórshavn is the capital and largest city.
The landscape is characterized by dramatic cliffs, deep fjords, and rolling green hills, with very few trees.
The Faroe Islands have a distinct cultural heritage, with strong traditions in music, dance, and literature.
