Fényemisszió

Fényemisszió, often translated as light emission or photon emission, refers to the process by which an object releases electromagnetic radiation in the form of light. This occurs when the atoms or molecules within the object transition from a higher energy state to a lower energy state. The excess energy is then released as a photon, which is a particle of light.

There are several mechanisms by which light emission can occur. Incandescence is a common form, observed in objects heated to high temperatures, such as the filament of an incandescent light bulb or the lava from a volcano. The thermal energy causes the atoms to vibrate, leading to the emission of photons across a spectrum of wavelengths. Fluorescence and phosphorescence are other types of light emission, often associated with specific materials that absorb energy from a source, like ultraviolet light, and then re-emit it as visible light. Chemiluminescence involves light emission as a byproduct of a chemical reaction, as seen in glow sticks. Bioluminescence is a biological form of chemiluminescence, where living organisms produce light through chemical processes. Electroluminescence occurs when a material emits light in response to an electric current or field, a principle used in LEDs and OLED displays.
