Fuzzyjärjestelmä

Fuzzyjärjestelmä, often translated as fuzzy logic system, is a computational approach that deals with reasoning that is approximate rather than fixed and exact. Unlike traditional Boolean logic where a statement is either true or false, fuzzy logic allows for degrees of truth, meaning a statement can be partially true and partially false. This is particularly useful for modeling complex systems where precise mathematical models are difficult or impossible to define, such as human decision-making processes.

The core components of a fuzzyjärjestelmä include fuzzification, inference engine, and defuzzification. Fuzzification is the process of converting crisp (precise) input values into fuzzy sets. These fuzzy sets are characterized by membership functions, which define the degree to which an input belongs to a particular set. For example, a temperature sensor reading of 25 degrees Celsius might be partially "warm" and partially "hot" according to predefined membership functions.

The inference engine then applies a set of fuzzy rules, often in the form of IF-THEN statements, to these fuzzy inputs. These rules are designed to mimic human reasoning. For instance, a rule might state: "IF temperature is warm AND humidity is high THEN fan speed is medium." Finally, defuzzification transforms the fuzzy output of the inference engine back into a crisp, actionable output. This allows the system to control actuators or make decisions in a real-world environment.
