Fundamentalgravitasi is a theoretical concept describing gravity as a fundamental interaction at the most basic level of physical law. In this view, gravity is not an emergent phenomenon arising from thermodynamic or informational principles but a primary force described by a quantum field or gauge structure, potentially mediated by quanta known as gravitons.

Historically, the idea contrasts with emergent-gravity proposals and with classical general relativity, which treats gravity as the geometry of spacetime. Proponents of fundamentalgravitasi typically seek a quantum theory of gravity in which gravity is integrated with the other fundamental forces. Approaches include perturbative quantum gravity, or frameworks like string theory, loop quantum gravity, or other beyond-Standard Model models that aim to quantize the gravitational field and reproduce Einstein's equations in the low-energy limit.

In this framework, the Einstein field equations would emerge as an effective description, while the underlying theory would specify a fundamental interaction with its own symmetries and mediating particles. Challenges include non-renormalizability in straightforward quantum field formulations, the need to reconcile diffeomorphism invariance with quantum mechanics, and the lack of direct experimental evidence for gravitons.

Current experimental support for gravity remains consistent with general relativity, including gravitational waves. Tests for quantum aspects of gravity are indirect or at energies far beyond current capability. Fundamentalgravitasi remains a topic of theoretical investigation within broader quantum gravity research, differing from emergent-gravity scenarios by postulating gravity as an intrinsic, quantizable force rather than a macroscopic emergent property.
