Fröbelgaben

Frobelgaben, also known as Froebel Gifts, are a series of educational toys developed by Friedrich Froebel, the founder of kindergarten. These gifts were designed to facilitate learning through play and were a cornerstone of Froebel's educational philosophy. The gifts are typically numbered and consist of geometric shapes and other manipulatives.

The first gift is a ball, which introduces the concept of color and movement. Subsequent gifts progress to more complex shapes such as cubes, cylinders, and prisms, often presented in divisible forms. For example, the sixth gift introduces blocks that can be further divided into smaller units, allowing children to explore concepts of proportion and construction.
