Frogger

Frogger is a classic arcade video game developed by Konami and released in 1981. The objective of the game is to guide a frog across a busy road and a treacherous river to its home. Players control the frog's movements, moving it up, down, left, or right one space at a time. The game is divided into two main sections: the road and the river.

On the road, the player must avoid colliding with various vehicles, including cars, trucks, and buses, which move at different speeds. Touching any vehicle results in the frog being squashed and losing a life. Once the frog successfully crosses the road, it enters the river section. Here, the frog must hop across a series of logs and turtles, which move downstream. Falling into the water or being crushed by a log results in losing a life. Some turtles dive underwater periodically, posing an additional hazard.

The goal is to get four frogs safely to their homes at the top of the screen. Each successfully guided frog earns the player points. The game increases in difficulty as the player progresses, with faster vehicles and more challenging river currents. Frogger was a commercial success and is considered one of the most iconic video games of the early 1980s, spawning numerous ports and sequels across various platforms.
